Margot Robbie shared that a memorable kiss she shared with Brad Pitt in the movie Babylon wasn’t actually scripted – it was improvised on the spot.
Robbie recently told E! News that a kiss with Brad Pitt wasn’t originally planned for the movie, but she decided to take the opportunity. She explained, ‘When else am I gonna get the chance to kiss Brad Pitt? I’m just gonna go for it!’. In the film, Robbie plays Nellie, an up-and-coming actress in 1920s Hollywood, alongside Diego Calva as Manny Torres and Brad Pitt as seasoned actor Jack Conrad.
Robbie shared that she needed to get director Damien Chazelle’s approval for an unplanned scene. She explained, “I told Damien I thought her character, Nellie, would naturally walk up and kiss Jack.”
During filming, someone jokingly asked if my character’s motivation was simply to kiss Brad Pitt. I replied that I might as well take the chance, as the opportunity wouldn’t come around often. The director agreed it fit the scene and even asked us to do the take again because he liked it so much.

The movie boasts a star-studded cast including Brad Pitt, Margot Robbie, Diego Calva, Jean Smart, Jovan Adepo, and Li Jun Li. While it initially received mixed reactions and didn’t perform well in theaters, it’s since gained appreciation and won awards for its impressive production design and music.
