Working with Nicholas Hoult was a delightful experience. I find a connection in the character of Lex, regrettably so. I was eager to craft something exceptional with these two characters. I simply adore the script.
Could this potentially formidable adversary perhaps be Brainiac, Superman’s second most infamous antagonist after Lex? While Brainiac hasn’t been featured in a Superman film thus far, there have been discussions about his inclusion in the past according to Gunn. Furthermore, in both the comics and the animated series “Superman: The Animated Series,” Lex Luthor and Brainiac have had their own rivalry.
Brainiac is another powerful cosmic threat in the DC universe, similar to Galactus from Marvel. He’s such a formidable foe that even Superman might require assistance to handle him. Other potential adversaries include Mongul, ruler of Warworld, and possibly Darkseid. However, it seems that DC Studios might save these characters for later. As a result, it’s likely that Brainiac will be the common enemy between Lex Luthor and Superman in the upcoming sequel movie.
