I’m thrilled to share that Maison Margiela and Gentle Monster are teaming up once again for their most spectacular collaboration yet! As a gaming enthusiast, I can’t help but feel like this is the ultimate level-up in fashion collaboration. This time around, they’ve rolled out 20 stunning eyewear designs – eight sunglasses and a dozen optical frames – that are sure to make heads turn!
This new collection draws inspiration from the duo’s earlier collaborations, comprising 11 and 17 distinct items. The design combines cyber-inspired aesthetics with metallic components, cable temples, and the iconic white stitching pattern by Margiela. The avant-garde line will feature bold sunglasses in silver and green metallic tones, as well as traditional colors such as black, gray, navy, ivory, red, and tortoiseshell.
In collaboration for their third joint project, Margiela and Gentle Monster plan to launch temporary retail spaces in seven global locations. These pop-up shops will showcase designs inspired by “cybercore,” featuring abstract human forms, bold patterns, and delicate materials in a balanced harmony. The spatial design of these stores is planned to reflect the eyewear’s cable temple detailing, but as of now, the specific cities for these pop-ups have not been revealed yet.
On March 5, you’ll be able to purchase Maison Margiela and Gentle Monster’s third collaboration online from Gentle Monster and approved retailers like HBX. The collection will also become available in physical stores on March 6. Check out the lineup in the gallery above for a sneak peek!
