Logan Paul is selling his incredibly rare Pikachu Illustrator Pokémon card, which is considered one of the most valuable trading cards in the world. He decided now is a good time to sell because more people are becoming interested in collecting.
Paul first purchased the Pokémon card in 2021 for almost $5.3 million, which at the time was a record price for a private sale. He’s now partnered with Ken Goldin, the head of Goldin Auctions, to sell the card and has already received a $2.5 million payment as part of the agreement.
This rare trading card is highlighted in the latest season of Netflix’s King of Collectibles: The Goldin Touch, which began streaming this week. According to collector Ken Goldin, the card will be available for bidding in a special auction on the Goldin Auctions website starting January 12th.
I’m hearing the final price for the card could be anywhere from $7 to $12 million! Paul Goldin explained in an interview that he decided to sell now because the Pokémon card market is absolutely booming – he said it’s hotter than it’s ever been, and Ken offered him a deal he simply couldn’t pass up.
So, I learned that Goldin actually made Paul an offer of $7.5 million for the card a while back, but Paul wasn’t interested. He turned it down flat, which is pretty surprising considering how much it eventually went for!
The market for valuable collectibles is expanding, especially as a new generation of collectors enters the scene. Goldin explained that these items are becoming a popular investment option, driven by fans—like those who enjoyed Pokémon as children—now having disposable income. With Pokémon celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2026, demand is predicted to increase even further.
Paul, a well-known personality from WWE and social media, has always been passionate about collecting rare items. He initially became popular online with his brother, Jake Paul, through platforms like Vine and YouTube. Recently, Jake Paul was in the news after losing a boxing match to Anthony Joshua, which was streamed live on Netflix.
