Kiko Kostadinov and ASICS’ Gel Kiril 3 Celebrates Japanese Workwear

In its third iteration, Kiko Kostadinov and ASICS are advancing the London-born Gel Kiril design, introducing two fresh color schemes and enhanced features. The ASICS Gel-Kiril 3 is a product of research into the transformation of Japanese work uniforms, interpreted through ASICS’ technical prowess and Kostadinov’s innovative perspective. As a favored collaborator of the Japanese running brand, Kostadinov consistently pushes ASICS’ design boundaries with unique details and forward-thinking perspectives.

1) The campaign in action showcases the worker-inspired ideas that drove the design process. Filmed an hour from Tokyo, the photos depict real workers, Daisuke, Kenta, and Rikiya constructing traditional scaffolding in Chiba. Taking cues from ASICS’ previous workwear shoes, the new design emphasizes practical features, such as a raised TPU front and etched patterns on the side panels, creating a worn-out, almost scaly appearance for the footwear.

The Gel Kirin 3 will come in two versions: one with a tonal brown color scheme accented by yellow pops, and another predominantly black with electric blue overlay details. The upper design showcases bold textures and intricate embossments that extend to the soles, giving these durable shoes an unique, eccentric flair.

Prior to its launch, we’ve got some exciting events lined up in Los Angeles, California, and London, England. On February 21, our LA store is set to feature a performance by Jade Guanaro Kuriki-Olivo. The following day, the ICA in London will host performances by Patrick Belaga and Bill Kouligas.

At both upcoming events, you’ll have the chance to purchase Kiko Kostadinov’s Asics Gel-Kiril 3. Following these events, they will be digitally released for sale on Monday, February 24 at 10 am GMT directly through the brand’s online store.
