Kia Unveils Futuristic Mobility Concepts at Milan Design Week 2025

During this year’s Milan Design Week, Kia presented its vision for future mobility with a design exhibit named “Journey to Transcendence.

At the showcase event, three main models were highlighted: the street-ready Kia PV5, the nature-inspired PV5 WKNDR concept, and the stylish Concept EV2. These vehicles all embody Kia’s “Opposites United” design ideology, demonstrating how their “Platform Beyond Vehicle” (PBV) approach seeks to revolutionize transportation by blending city functionality with outdoor exploration.

This upcoming model, the PV5 from Kia, set to debut in Korea and Europe by year’s end, boasts a modular design with three distinct body styles: Passenger, Cargo, and Chassis Cab. It promises an impressive driving range of up to 248 miles, along with rapid 30-minute fast charging, catering equally well for professional and leisure applications.

On my gaming adventures, I’ve found myself drawn to the rugged PV5 WKNDR. Equipped with off-road tires, solar panels, and an “off-board storage module” named “Gear Head,” it’s built for independent weekend expeditions into the wilderness. The sustainable materials like Nike Grind flooring, made from recycled sneakers, only add to its appeal.

The EV2 Concept, an electric compact SUV designed for city driving, offers flexible seating arrangements, adjustable storage compartments, and detachable speakers – all aimed at reinventing urban journeys. It seamlessly blends practicality and style, offering a glimpse into Kia’s aspirations for electric vehicles in the cityscape. Partnerships with outdoor brand Helinox and South Korean coffee house Potler added to the exhibition’s appeal. Helinox supplied materials for the artistic installation, while Potler set up a portable booth that offered s’mores kits and Kia-themed coffee experiences.
