Kendrick Lamar’s crew warns Drake’s friend Top5 for threatening Kendrick

As a fan who’s been following these artists for years, I can’t help but feel like I’m watching a dramatic soap opera unfold right before my eyes. The back-and-forth between Kendrick Lamar and Drake has been intense, to say the least, and now it seems their friends are picking up where they left off.

For now, Kendrick Lamar and Drake have ended their back and forth, but their friends haven’t.

A few days ago, Top5, who has ties with Drake and OVO, made threats towards Kendrick Lamar and Metro Boomin. This came shortly after he was acquitted of a murder charge and expressed gratitude to Drake for covering his legal expenses. However, representatives for Kendrick have since retaliated with their own threats.

Top5 shared with DJ Akademiks and Adin Ross that he’s currently researching about Metro Boomin and Kendrick Lamar. He clarified that he’s not looking for any trouble, it’s just his current project involves them. He specifically mentioned that he’d like to have a one-on-one conversation with Metro Boomin. He assured everyone that he doesn’t intend to use any weapons or cause harm in any way. His statement was followed by an expression of determination.

“Kendrick Lamar, you passed the border. Chubbs called me,” he continued. “I will quit rapping if Kendrick Lamar goes to [the Toronto restaurant ] New Ho King without 20 police officers. You’re crazy for testing my gangster.”

Additionally, Top5 mentioned that he plans to join Drake for a viewing of Kendrick Lamar’s diss track “Not Like Us” video, enabling him to identify the individuals depicted in it.

Kendrick’s pal, Hitta J3, replied on X and said, “Let’s see what happens next.” In addition, Hitta shared a video of Top5 appearing to retreat from a dispute following disrespect. The caption for the video read, “Is this the tough guy everyone’s been talking about?

As a devoted fan, I’d rephrase it this way: Kendrick’s pal, Smac, also chimed in with Top5 and expressed no concern about his threat whatsoever. “You and Toronto can take a hike, Top5. You don’t need to seek us out, we’ll come for you,” he asserted on the FMW podcast. “I’ve got my sights set on you. Come to L.A., and we’re going to put an end to your antics.

He continued by saying, “We’re going to give this person a harsh response.” They stand on business principles… This individual is causing trouble, so all boundaries are now broken. If you threaten us, then the consequences will extend to your entire family.

Hopefully, all of this is just tough talk and no violence breaks out. We’ll have to see.
