Katy Perry announces that Doechii will be on her new single ‘I’m His, He’s Mine’

As a seasoned gamer of music trends, I must say the news about Doechii joining Katy Perry on her single “I’m His, He’s Mine” has me buzzing like a level-up notification! The energy between these two powerhouses is electrifying and I can already feel the chart-topping synergy they’re about to unleash.

Without a doubt, Doechii shows no signs of slowing down. Following the successful launch of her mixtape titled “Alligator Bites Never Heal” last month, she has been recognized as one of the rising stars in rap music. Recently, it was revealed that she will be featured on Katy Perry’s upcoming single, “I’m His, He’s Mine.

On Tuesday, the pop star announced some exciting news on Instagram, where two women posed confidently in a stylish post. The caption read: “I’M HIS, HE’S MINE (feat. @doechii) – Song and Video Pre-Save Now! Link: Katy.TO/SaveIHHM

The enthusiasm for the collaboration is beyond description as evidenced by their Instagram comments. For instance, one user commented, “I already know you and @doechii are going to crush it!” Another user exclaimed, “Yeeees! Queens! I can hardly wait!” Additionally, a third user wrote, “With performances and new songs this week, it’s like Queen’s Week🧡.

In related updates, the Florida-born rapper has unveiled to her audience a new persona – a man called Ricardo, originally from Panama. For a feature in Paper Magazine, she donned the character’s attire, sporting a wig styled as an Afro and fake abdominal muscles.

In an interview with Paper Mag, Doechii shared, “During the past year, some people’s comments included, ‘She seems like a man,’ or ‘She’s overdoing her makeup, she looks like a drag queen.’ However, these remarks don’t faze me; instead, they intrigue me. When people kept saying I looked like a man, I decided to challenge their perception by embracing a more masculine look. And so, the idea for my unique style was born, which I believe turned out fantastic.

In another part of the conversation, the TDE artist opened up about the stress she’s experienced following her success and confessed that it impacted her artistic flow. However, she has since returned to her roots and has been producing music with a focus on pleasing herself once more.

Over the final few months of last year, I felt an intense burden to create a song as successful as ‘What It Is.’ This focus on producing another hit single started to extinguish my enthusiasm for creating music because I felt like I was only doing it to achieve success.

Doechii shared, “I initially approached music with a specific purpose, but I find that doesn’t suit me creatively. Lately, I’ve understood that music serves as my personal therapy. When I create without external pressures such as radio or fans, and focus on making it solely for myself, I produce my finest work. Now that I’m back to that mindset, it feels incredible.
