As a devoted fan who has been following Kate Bush since her debut in 1978, the prospect of a new album from this enigmatic and groundbreaking artist is nothing short of exhilarating! After all these years, her unique blend of music, narrative, and artistry continues to captivate me, leaving me eagerly anticipating each new release. The recent resurgence in popularity due to “Running Up That Hill” being featured on Stranger Things has only rekindled the flame of my passion for her work.
It’s been a while since we last got a new album from Kate Bush, but there are hints that this could change soon. The artist has indicated as much herself, expressing her eagerness to return to the studio. Additionally, there’s an opportunity for us to experience and listen to something fresh from her.
In the year 2011 marked the release of her latest studio album, which was titled “50 Words for Snow“. This was her tenth studio album overall and it followed a six-year gap since her ninth studio album, “Ariel“, that came out in 2005.
Now seems to be an ideal moment to take advantage of the recent prolonged absence, especially since her music experienced a significant surge last year. This was primarily due to her song “Running Up That Hill” gaining global chart success. Its popularity was largely fueled by its inclusion in the TV show Stranger Things.
A short animation film from Kate Bush is out now, and hopefully an album is to follow
Enthusiasts quickly started playing the track more often, along with Bush’s previous works. This sparked a fresh wave and a new generation of enthusiasts. It could potentially pave the way for something innovative as well.
Recently, Bush was interviewed on BBC Radio 4’s Today program by Emma Barnett in the UK. She expressed enthusiasm about potentially creating a new album, stating, “I’m eager to begin work on a new project.” She added that she has numerous ideas and is excited about returning to her creative realm, which she hasn’t visited for quite some time. Bush has consistently demonstrated creativity since making her debut in the music industry with her distinctive style and her first popular single, “Wuthering Heights,” back in 1978.
It seems like it’s going to take some time before we hear anything new, as she’s just discussing returning to the studio instead of actively working on an album. Nevertheless, Bush fans are likely to be understanding and wait for the new release.
In the interim, she has another project on the horizon that’s set for release sooner rather than later. Bush, known for her work, is currently producing an animated short film titled “Little Shrew” to aid War Child charity. Notably, she is also responsible for the film’s music, a refreshed rendition of her song “Snowflake,” which was previously released in 2011.
The movie is accessible through Bush’s official site, offering a temporary entertainment solution that supports a worthy cause. Fans can enjoy it at no cost, though they’re invited to donate to associated charities for continued support.
