As a gamer, let me tell you, there’s nothing quite like waking up to the rhythm of Bruce Springsteen’s tunes. Truth be told, a dose of The Boss, whether solo or with the E Street Band, is always an amazing and fulfilling experience, no matter what time it is. Lately, here in the UK, we’ve been riding high on a wave of Springsteen enthusiasm.
On our latest tour, “The Land Of Hopes And Dreams,” we’ve been thrilled to have the boss (Bruce Springsteen) and his band perform live. If you managed to catch any of it, whether in person or through social media clips, you know it was a fantastic series of concerts. One particularly memorable moment was when Paul McCartney joined Springsteen and the E Street Band on stage for a few songs.
After such pleasant experiences, the uncertainty arises about what lies ahead. When and how will we get another dose of our workplace leader? Luckily, there’s some exciting news for everyone! Recently, a trailer was unveiled for an upcoming movie titled “Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere.
New Bruce Springsteen biopic trailer implies the movie is can’t-miss
Following Timothee Chalamet’s successful portrayal of Bob Dylan in “A Complete Unknown” a while ago, one might ponder how Jeremy Allen White would adapt to the role of Springsteen on the silver screen. This part is quite distinct from his acclaimed performances in “The Bear“.
No need to fret! Here are three compelling reasons why. Firstly, the trailer – a gripping 2 minutes and 36 seconds that lays the foundation for the upcoming film. It’s our initial glimpse of White as Springsteen, and he truly shines in the role.
Additionally, it addresses another question: what will the music be like? Although there are merely brief snippets, the harmonica subtly entering at around 45 seconds sends shivers down your spine. Moreover, a final glance and listen as the trailer concludes with “Born To Run” playing on stage provides a comforting confirmation as well.
Personally, one reassuring factor about the movie stems directly from the words of Bruce Springsteen himself. He’s openly spoken about his backing for this project. Not only has The Boss commended Michael White for his exceptional acting and singing in the film, but he’s also publicly endorsed him as nailing the role of Springsteen. That kind of approval certainly makes a strong addition to White’s resume.
Springsteen making his Nebraska album is the backdrop for the movie
The film explores the time when Springsteen was creating his 1982 album “Nebraska.” This album represented a major shift in his musical approach. While he had achieved some notable successes previously, he wasn’t yet the blockbuster icon we know today. “Nebraska” was a daring choice with a more folky sound, recorded in a low-fidelity manner using a 4-track recorder in his bedroom.
Instead of a cheerful tune, the music began to express moments of deep sadness, and the lyrics painted pictures of working-class individuals battling life’s hardships and appearing to stumble at every obstacle. These melancholic, acoustic compositions have struck a chord with numerous listeners across time.
Originally, Springsteen intended to create the album with the E Street Band, but he abandoned the sound from initial recordings in favor of a more subdued, solo style. Remarkably, the song “Atlantic City” from the album Nebraska is still frequently performed on his current tour.
Looking forward to uncovering the intriguing tale of how the album was created, as it unfolds on the silver screen. Seems like he’s the perfect fit for narrating that story. Now, with the movie’s style sorted out, there’s only one major aspect left to decide upon.
What’s the release date for Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere? We’ve got some exciting news – you won’t have to wait too long, as it’s set to hit theaters on October 24th.
