2024 marked a significant milestone in my career as I took over the reins from Belgian design legend Dries Van Noten, following his departure from his namesake label during Paris Fashion Week. With the weight of 150 iconic collections on my shoulders, it was time to showcase my own vision and prove my mettle as a fashion house leader. Fast forward to Fall/Winter 2025, I stood center stage at the grand Palais Garnier, ready to unveil my first collection as the new head of the House. The anticipation was palpable, and I couldn’t wait to share my creative journey with the world.
At the grand, historic setting, Klausner’s ambition and reverence for Dries Van Noten were aptly showcased. As guests climbed marble staircases filled with anticipation, they marveled at gold-adorned accents, lavish chandeliers, and century-old murals depicting Paris’ unparalleled artistic prowess.
In this scenario, I envision women traversing an opera house, picking up fabrics and assorted items, using shoelaces as makeshift ties as they search for a solution to a mystery question. Klausner, the designer, has unveiled his concept for Dries Van Noten, leaving spectators spellbound by his artistic genius. Klausner skillfully blended the past and present in a touching homage to the brand’s rich heritage.
Stepping into the runway, I donned a lengthy, shaggy wool coat, its frayed stitches dancing freely. Next came structured coats, capes, and delicate silk tops, bathed in dim lighting. Dries Van Noten’s iconic vibrant patterns took a step back this season, showcased in subdued stripes, while luxurious leather belts added a touch of sophistication to minimalist tailoring. The collection then morphed into a blend of villainous coats and layered miniskirts, adorned with an exciting mix of prints and patterns – a nod to the past while looking forward to the future. Gold-edged knitwear glided gracefully, transforming into a fiery orange in look 21. The vibrant colors of fuschia, green, blue, and purple gradually illuminated the collection, imbuing silk gowns, skin-tight suits, and jacket trimmings with an ancient spirit. As I took my final bow to a standing ovation, I couldn’t help but beam with pride at the marvelous success of my designs.
