As a fervent admirer, I must admit that I’m dismayed by CBS’s decision to end The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. Upon learning the news, I couldn’t help but voice my feelings on Instagram. Sharing a heartfelt clip of him from the set, I penned a message saying, “My dear Stephen, you are deeply valued.” In a moment of frustration, I also wrote, “CBS, your decision to keep Sheldon around feels like a slap in the face.
On Thursdays, when Stephen Colbert revealed the network had scrapped upcoming episodes of his talk show, viewers expressed their displeasure with loud boos and vocal criticisms towards the network’s choice.
Stephen Colbert’s The Late Show to go off-air
In a more recent episode of The Late Show, Colbert informed his audience and viewers that the program will conclude in May 2026. As the crowd expressed their displeasure towards the network, the talk show host humorously commented, “I feel your pain.” He went on to add, “Not only is our show ending, but The Late Show on CBS will no longer be airing. I’m not being replaced; instead, it’s all simply disappearing.
In another part of his speech, Colbert expressed, “It’s a privilege to create this show for each other, round-the-clock, and I’ve been fortunate enough to share our daily work with you, my viewers, through this camera screen for the past 10 years.
He ended by stating, “I must say, what a wonderful position! If only someone else could have it. Over the next ten months, I’m eagerly anticipating working alongside these familiar faces again. It promises to be an enjoyable ride.
Speaking as a lifestyle enthusiast, I find myself in solidarity with the esteemed Stephen Colbert, who’s recently faced an unfair situation. The talented Adam Scott, known for his role in Severance, took to Instagram to express his feelings, saying, “I’m with you, Stephen. This is completely unjust. I, for one, am eagerly anticipating the next 10 months of your shows.
