As a dedicated enthusiast of the Tron universe like myself, the glimpse into Tron: Ares feels tailor-made for fellow fans such as us. It’s not merely about the upcoming chapter in the series, but a journey through the fascinating path the franchise has navigated. If I may use a metaphor, it’s akin to watching the thrilling races on ribbons of light – the very symbol of this captivating saga.
Although Bridges’ Flynn may be confined within the digital world as depicted in “Tron: Legacy”, where he remained to rescue his son, the narrative of the upcoming movie, “Tron: Ares”, shifts focus to his previous domain. The film, as per its official synopsis from Disney, brings Programs into reality.
In simpler terms, “Tron” presents the story of a complex computer program named Ares, dispatched from the digital realm to our physical world on a perilous assignment. This event serves as mankind’s initial interaction with artificially intelligent beings.
The trailer for “Tron: Ares,” titled “Flynn Lives,” hints that merging the digital and human worlds won’t proceed as expected. Just as humans once had to rescue the digital realm, a digital entity (a Program) may now be our only hope for survival in the real world.
I hail from the vision of director Joachim Rønning, who’s also behind “Maleficent: Mistress of Evil.” In this cinematic journey, I have the pleasure of sharing the screen with the talented Jared Leto, Greta Lee, Evan Peters, Hasan Minhaj, Jodie Turner-Smith, Arturo Castro, Cameron Monaghan, and Gillian Anderson. As we delve into our roles, the hauntingly beautiful score that accompanies us is graciously provided by Nine Inch Nails.
In the upcoming film “Tron: Ares”, which starts playing in cinemas on October 10, we’ll discover if Bridges’ Flynn character will survive, regardless of the dimension, when it commences.
