James Gunn Made a Stealth Cameo in the PEACEMAKER Finale

As a movie fan, I’ve always loved spotting directors and creators popping up in their own films – it’s a tradition that goes way back! Alfred Hitchcock was one of the first to do it in the ’50s, and Stan Lee, of course, was a master of the cameo, showing up in tons of Marvel movies. Now, James Gunn has joined the club! I just learned from Culture Crave on Twitter that he makes a quick appearance as an extra in the final scene of *Peacemaker*, during the Foxy Shazam concert on the boat. If you look closely at pictures of John Cena and Jennifer Holland rocking out, you can spot a smiling Gunn in the crowd. It’s a fun little Easter egg for fans like me!

If you did a double-take and thought you saw James Gunn in a recent scene, you weren’t mistaken! It really was the co-head of DC Studios making a cameo. Gunn himself confirmed the appearance on the *Peacemaker: The Official Podcast*. The podcast also revealed that actor Steve Agee, who plays John Economos, and two members of the band Nelson (who performed in the episode) were also extras in the background, enjoying the music.

During the podcast, Gunn explained that he simply invited everyone to come out and have fun. The entire cast and crew, including many production assistants, joined in and started dancing. He even suggested viewers might be able to pause the footage to spot them in the background – and sure enough, someone quickly did! While the season two finale of *Peacemaker* sparked some debate among fans, we recommend watching it again, if only to see how much fun everyone was having.
