Reflecting on what captivated him as a child, Elordi confessed he was fascinated by I Dream of Jeannie, the film New York Minute starring Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, Hannah Montana with Miley Cyrus, and a specific Hilary Duff movie set in Italy – he vividly remembers a scene with a frog in a fountain and a boy on a moped. He says he has clear memories of watching all of them when they first came out.

He mentioned Ang Lee’s Sense and Sensibility as a particularly moving film. He recalled watching it while eating ice cream and being deeply affected by Kate Winslet’s character, saying he cried throughout the movie because of the beautiful sadness of the story.

When asked about his personality, Jacob Elordi said he identifies more with dogs than cats. He explained, “Saying ‘dog’ feels like a safe choice. Saying ‘cat’ feels like I’m pretending to be calm and wise.”
