Summary

  • IWC’s Pilot’s Watch Chronograph 41 TOP GUN Miramar in ceramic and stainless steel
  • Both feature Pantone® light blue dials and are powered by in-house movements
  • Limited to 1,000 pieces, the ceramic version comes in a tonal Pantone® case

IWC adds two new editions to its TOP GUN Colors collection, introducing the Pilot’s Watch Chronograph 41 TOP GUN Miramar. These limited-edition watches come in two unique versions, with one model boasting a special light blue ceramic case, reminiscent of the t-shirts worn by TOP GUN instructors and inspired by Pantone® color development. The creation of this colored ceramic case is intricate, involving the combination of zirconium oxide with specific metallic oxides in exact proportions. This process, which undergoes numerous trials to achieve the desired shade and uniformity across both dial and strap, makes each piece a rare find.

The ceramic casing harmoniously combines with a dial and rubber band sharing the same bold color, resulting in a visually consistent and eye-catching look. This specific model is driven by the IWC 69380 caliber, an advanced chronograph movement featuring a column-wheel design and boasting a power reserve of 46 hours. The back of the titanium casing bears the “TOP GUN” emblem, while a soft-iron lining inside offers protection against magnetic fields.

As a gaming enthusiast, I can’t help but get excited about the latest addition to my watch collection – the stainless steel edition of the Maison’s timepiece! This is a groundbreaking moment as it’s the first time a Pantone® color from the TOP GUN series graces a non-ceramic watch. The 41mm steel case, Miramar blue dial, and matching rubber strap make this model a real head-turner. To top it off, the rhodium-plated hands, filled with Super-LumiNova®, ensure excellent readability in any light condition, and the open caseback provides a captivating view of the intricate in-house 69385 movement at work.

The models come equipped with IWC’s easy-swap EasX-CHANGE® system, enabling users to swiftly switch straps according to their preferences in style or outfit. You can get these models directly from IWC, and the ceramic version costs $13,500 USD, whereas the steel model is available for $7,200 USD.
