As someone who has always admired the dynamic of Roc-A-Fella Records and its pioneers, it’s disheartening to see Dame Dash’s current state of affairs. It seems like he’s stuck in a perpetual cycle of resentment towards Jay-Z, his former partner.
Once upon his life’s journey, Dame Dash held significant influence in the music realm following the establishment of Roc-A-Fella Records alongside Jay-Z and Kareem “Biggs” Burke. Now, though, he has shifted roles: He spends much of his time expressing critical views about Jay-Z.
On Monday, September 30, Dame expressed thoughts concerning Diddy’s sex trafficking arrest and expressed hope that Jay won’t get implicated in any of the accusations. However, based on Dame’s statements, it appears as though he secretly wishes for Jay to face trouble, since he propagated an unsubstantiated rumor about Jay being arrested due to the Bad Boy empire’s influence.
On his America Nu Network YouTube channel, Dame expressed his sincere hope that the allegations being made aren’t true. He finds it hard to believe these accusations could possibly be accurate and wishes they weren’t so. In essence, he doesn’t want this individual to end up in jail.
He continued. “As much as he’s been f—–g with my money, I wanna hope that that’s the worst that he’s been doing. I would never want to hear that Jay was in a freak off party …. It would be such another big blow for hip-hop.”
However, while Dame seemed concerned about Jay, it was interesting to note that he raised the topic of money, revealing this to be the core of his disagreement with the Brooklyn rapper.
It emerged in 2021 that Dame had attempted to sell his portion of the rights to Jay’s first album, “Reasonable Doubt.” However, Jay subsequently sued and the two parties reached a settlement. According to Vibe, Dame is barred from selling or disposing of any ownership rights to “Reasonable Doubt” in the future.
Dame is facing significant financial troubles due to losing a lawsuit against filmmaker Josh Webber worth $823,000 over a planned movie collaboration. This predicament has led people to question the authenticity of his concern about Jay’s upcoming arrest, as it appears that he might be shifting blame for his own money problems onto Jay.
