Ironmouse, a widely recognized VTuber and video game streamer, has parted ways with her previous agency VShojo, alleging that the company misused around half a million dollars she had planned to donate to the Immune Deficiency Foundation, along with additional funds.
In a video message, Ironmouse clarified that she asked VShojo to give a large contribution to charity using funds from the record-breaking subathon they managed. She typically has the company handle payments to shield her identity, but it seems the donation wasn’t delivered to the Immune Deficiency Foundation over the past year. Ironmouse chose not to provide more information based on her lawyer’s recommendation.
Apart from her previous statements, she additionally announced her plan to collect the debt owed to the charity – a venture which, as I write this, has already accumulated over $200,000 USD.
It appears that many talents who used to work with VShojo are now severing their connections with the company, among them voice actress and singer AmaLee (known for Honkai: Star Rail and Nikke). They also seem to be backing Ironmouse in public.
Established in 2020 by Justin Ignacio, one of Twitch’s co-founders who serves as its CEO, VShojo was launched with the intention of dominating the Western VTuber market using a less structured management style compared to the global leader Hololive. Ironmouse, who joined from the get-go, became the public face of the agency and garnered the title of Creator of the Year at The Game Awards in 2023. At present, VShojo has not issued any official comments regarding the current situation.
