Fans of Honkai: Star Rail will never forget how HoYoverse brilliantly misled everyone about the main villain of Penacony. They built up Duke Inferno and Ever-Flame Mansion, only to have Acheron swiftly defeat him off-screen and use his power to become even stronger! Many were excited by the characters shown in the original Ever-Flame Mansion trailer, but they never actually appeared in the game. Now, those wishes are finally coming true: Constance, also known as The Dahlia, will be a playable 5-Star character in Honkai: Star Rail version 3.8. She’s aligned with The Nihility and specializes in Fire damage.
It’s unclear why she’s using the name “The Dahlia” – it could be a playful reference to a character from Genshin Impact, or a hint that she’s a fan of Herta. Regardless, in a previous teaser, Duke Inferno praised Constance as his most skilled follower and tasked her with pursuing Black Swan in Penacony.
The developers have announced that after the main story ends in Version 3.7, we’ll be returning to the Planet of Festivities for an epilogue. Now, we’re getting a closer look at what that will involve.
“My memories are painful, so let me begin by sharing my story… I’m Constance, though some who’ve been captivated by me call me ‘The Dahlia.’ Don’t worry. Join me, and together we’ll explore how the past is being destroyed and the future is being lost,” The Dahlia wrote in a recent social media post.
The text describes a haunting dream where a mansion, called Ever-Flame, is consumed by fire, effectively wiping away all memory of a person. This destruction is accompanied by the emergence of betrayal. The dream seems to be a repeating cycle, and the question is posed: who will be responsible for causing this destruction again?
HSR 3.8 is expected to launch in December 2025.
