You’ll encounter Heartseeker as one of the first bosses in Where Winds Meet. This enemy uses a large scythe and frequently moves around the arena, trying to surprise you with both close-range and long-distance attacks.
You’ll first fight Heartseeker at the end of the Still Shore dungeon as part of the main story quest, ‘A Horse Neighs in the Forest.’ After that, you can challenge her again to earn extra rewards. Here’s a guide to help you with this boss fight.
Heartseeker Boss Fight Walkthrough

Heartseeker fights up close with quick scythe attacks, constantly changing their attack patterns to surprise you. While most attacks can be avoided the same way, it takes practice to learn the right timing for blocking and dodging. Be careful of attack combinations that require you to block several times in a row to fully defend yourself.
Heartseeker regularly creates three red orbs that fly towards you. You can dodge them, but it’s more effective to use Meridian Touch to destroy the orbs and briefly make Heartseeker vulnerable, allowing you to deal significant damage.
Heartseeker has a tricky attack where she quickly disappears and instantly reappears behind you, followed by a powerful sideways swing. If you see her vanish, be prepared to either block or move out of the way to avoid the attack.
Heartseeker has a risky attack where she rushes forward with an uppercut, then swings her scythe around your neck to pull you close. If she connects, you’ll be pulled into a powerful, unavoidable attack. Fortunately, you can block this attack with a well-timed parry.
Heartseeker sometimes leaps into the air and releases a damaging mist around her that lasts for several seconds. If you see her jump, quickly move to a safe distance.
Phase 2
When Heartseeker loses her first health bar, she’ll move to the center of the arena and start charging her scythe with red lightning. This attack is instantly fatal if you get hit, so quickly run behind one of the tombstones around the arena’s edge and stay there until the lightning attack finishes.
Heartseeker’s attacks with her scythe will be significantly stronger, as she’ll attack more quickly and deal more damage. However, the best way to fight her hasn’t changed: focus on blocking and dodging her attacks, and try to strike when you have an opening.
