Hideo Kojima’s DEATH STRANDING ISOLATIONS Coming To Disney+

Hideo Kojima, the acclaimed Japanese game creator behind the popular post-apocalyptic game Death Stranding, is bringing the world to life as a new anime series. Disney+ has announced the show, currently titled Death Stranding Isolations, is scheduled to premiere in 2027.

The renowned game creator announced the project at a Disney+ event in Asia Pacific on Thursday. He was joined by director Takayuki Sano, known for his work on Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods. The series will be produced by E&H Production. This is the first time Kojima Productions has collaborated with the streaming platform.

The animated series Death Stranding Isolations tells a new story set in the world of Death Stranding, focusing on a young man’s quest to save America as humanity faces extinction. The series explores themes of isolation through the journeys of several characters: an elderly man seeking redemption, a fierce female warrior attempting to rebuild a war-torn world, a boy harboring resentment towards Sam Bridges, and a young girl who finds solace in solitude.

Hideo Kojima will executive produce the new series, which will be created using traditional hand-drawn 2D animation. The announcement included initial concept art from artist Ilya Kuvshinov.

The game Death Stranding first came out on PlayStation in 2019 and has since been played by over 20 million people globally. The series has grown with the recent release of Death Stranding 2: On the Beach on PlayStation 5. Creator Hideo Kojima is also known for the Metal Gear series and is currently working on a new project called Physint.
