It centers on a school bus driver and a teacher who bravely guide 22 children to safety as the wildfire rapidly approaches. The film stars Matthew McConaughey and America Ferrera, with supporting roles played by Yul Vazquez and Ashlie Atkinson. The screenplay, written by Greengrass and Brad Ingelsby, is based on a nonfiction book by journalist Lizzie Johnson.
This Apple Original film, lasting a little over two hours, combines Paul Greengrass’s realistic and detailed filmmaking style with a focus on the personal side of leading during a difficult time. Pål Ulvik Rokseth was the cinematographer, and James Newton Howard composed the music. The film was produced in both the United States and the United Kingdom.
‘All of You’ (2025)
Directed by William Bridges and co-written with Brett Goldstein, this romantic story is set in the near future and follows two best friends whose relationship is complicated when they take a test that claims to identify soulmates. Brett Goldstein stars as Simon, alongside Imogen Poots as Laura, with Steven Cree and Zawe Ashton also appearing in the film.
This Apple Original film follows two people over several years, showing how technology and chance affect the decisions they make. It’s a character-driven story, under two hours long, that explores the consequences of one pivotal moment and is intended for mature audiences due to language and sexual themes.
‘Highest 2 Lowest’ (2025)
Directed by Spike Lee, this thrilling crime story centers on David King, a successful music executive played by Denzel Washington, who finds himself caught up in a dangerous kidnapping plot that puts his family and reputation at risk. The film also stars Jeffrey Wright and A$AP Rocky, and is a production of A24.
Clocking in at just over two hours, the film combines director Lee’s careful visual style with a modern kidnapping story set within the fast-paced world of entertainment. Apple TV+ has rated it R and describes it as a character-driven thriller, with Washington delivering a powerful central performance.
‘The Gorge’ (2025)
Directed by Scott Derrickson, this Apple Original film stars Miles Teller and Anya Taylor-Joy as highly skilled agents assigned to watch over a dangerous area separated by a deep gorge. Sigourney Weaver appears in a significant supporting role, and the screenplay is written by Zach Dean.
The movie debuted on Apple TV+ in mid-February and lasts just over two hours. It’s a blend of action, romance, and tense, claustrophobic suspense, benefiting from the director’s experience with these types of stories and strong performances from Miles Teller, Anya Taylor-Joy, and Sigourney Weaver.
‘Fountain of Youth’ (2025)
In his latest film, director Guy Ritchie brings together John Krasinski and Natalie Portman as long-lost siblings who team up on an international adventure to find the mythical fountain of youth. The movie also stars Eiza González, Domhnall Gleeson, Arian Moayed, and Stanley Tucci, and runs just over two hours.
I’m so excited about this new movie! It feels like a thrilling adventure, a bit of a mystery, and even has elements of a heist film all rolled into one. The action jumps around the globe, with different teams racing to find the same treasures and solve the same puzzles. Knowing it’s an Apple Original backed by Skydance, and directed by Guy Ritchie, I’m expecting a really fast-paced, exciting story with a fantastic cast leading the way.
‘Stiller & Meara: Nothing Is Lost’ (2025)
Ben Stiller’s documentary explores the lives and careers of his famous comedic parents, Jerry Stiller and Anne Meara. It looks at how they started out performing together, their individual successes, and the lasting influence they had on comedy. The film features interviews with Amy Stiller, Christine Taylor, Christopher Walken, and Stephen Colbert.
This Apple Studios film uses old footage and new interviews to tell the story of a comedy team, focusing on their family-like bond, creative process, and journey from performing on stage and TV to becoming well-known in the comedy world. It’s presented as a personal look at the group, guided by director Ben Stiller.
‘The Family Plan’ (2023)
This Apple TV+ action-comedy, directed by Simon Cellan Jones and written by David Coggeshall, features Mark Wahlberg as Dan Morgan, a seemingly ordinary car salesman. But when his secret life as a former government assassin is revealed, he’s forced to take his family on a spontaneous road trip. Michelle Monaghan also stars, alongside Maggie Q, Ciarán Hinds, and Zoe Colletti.
This fun, fast-paced movie combines family comedy with exciting action. It was produced by Apple Studios and Skydance and lasts a little under two hours. Apple plans to release it as one of its original films during the 2023 holiday season.
‘Sharper’ (2023)
Directed by Benjamin Caron, this thrilling film set in New York follows a con artist and stars Julianne Moore, Sebastian Stan, Justice Smith, Briana Middleton, and John Lithgow. Brian Gatewood and Alessandro Tanaka wrote the screenplay, and A24 initially released it in theaters before it became available on Apple TV+.
I was completely hooked by this movie! It’s told through different characters’ viewpoints, and follows some really clever cons happening among New York’s richest people. What I loved was that it didn’t drag on – it’s all packed into under two hours. Plus, it’s a great collaboration between Apple and A24, and the cast is amazing – the story keeps you guessing right until the end!
‘Greyhound’ (2020)
Okay, so I just finished watching this intense WWII movie directed by Aaron Schneider. It stars Tom Hanks, and get this, he actually co-wrote the script! It’s based on a novel called ‘The Good Shepherd’ by C.S. Forester. Basically, it follows this destroyer ship leading a convoy across the Atlantic, and it’s super tense because they’re dodging U-boats. The supporting cast is great too – you’ve got Stephen Graham, Rob Morgan, and Elisabeth Shue all in there.
The movie was originally intended for cinemas, but it premiered on Apple TV+ and lasts around 90 minutes. Made with Playtone and others, it’s one of Apple TV+’s first popular originals, known for being relatively short and its accurate depiction of life at sea in the past.
‘It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown’ (1966)
Every October, fans can revisit this beloved 25-minute animated special from United Feature Syndicate. It centers around Linus patiently waiting in the pumpkin patch, Charlie Brown getting ready for a party, and Snoopy’s imaginative adventures as a World War I pilot. The special features the original, iconic voices of the Peanuts characters.
You can still find classic Peanuts specials on Apple TV+, and they continue to be a beloved tradition for Halloween and other holidays. These charming animations, originally created from Charles M. Schulz’s characters and produced by Bill Melendez, are a great quick watch alongside Apple’s full-length movies and shows.
