Following a significant narrative focus on the Illuminate, Helldivers 2 is returning to its roots: humans versus aliens (bugs). Set for release on September 2, 2025, the Into the Unjust update will center around Super Earth’s aggressive incursion into the Terminid Hive Worlds, which are cloaked by the Gloom. It will be available on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S platforms.
Explorers, known as Helldivers, are tasked with descending onto these planetary surfaces shrouded in dust, navigating through poor visibility and venturing further into the subterranean caverns to neutralize the Gloom’s origin point. Unfortunately, due to the persistent fog, some of our standard support systems won’t be accessible – this includes our powerful Super Destroyers among others.
In a new twist, the Terminids are armed with updated Warrior, Bile Spewer, and Charger models, along with entirely novel mutations such as the flying Dragonroach – these are merely some of the terrifying creatures that game developer Arrowhead has revealed will be defending their Hive Worlds.
Of course, freeing the Hive Worlds brings about fresh assignments for us, including tasks like safeguarding a movable oil platform and demolishing hidden subterranean facilities.
On the second day following the rollout of the update, Arrowhead is set to debut the upcoming Warbond for Helldivers 2 titled “Dust Devils” on September 4, 2025.
The AR-2 Coyote, a firearm equipped with explosive ammunition that’s tricky to handle, and the G-7 Pineapple, a grenade specifically created for obliterating Terminids in tight areas, are included features. Furthermore, Helldivers will acquire the S-11 Speargun, a robust rocket launcher that expels smoke-producing projectiles, the EAT-700 Expendable Napalm missile, and the MS-11 Solo Silo – a tactical plan that summons a compact missile silo with a single mighty projectile guided by a portable targeting device.
The armor sets featured in the Warbond – the DS-42 Federation’s Blade and DS-191 Scorpion – offer resistance against fire, gas, acid, and electrical damage, and they also boost the throwing range.
