Adventure Time: Fionna and Cake is set to return for a second season on HBO Max this October.
The latest season of the show will start streaming on October 23rd. Each week, a new episode will be available, with a total of ten episodes planned.
The final episode of the season will air on December 25th, and fans should watch each week to follow the plot. Warner Bros. announced this and unveiled the official trailer for Season 2 at New York Comic Con 2025.

Adventure Time: Fionna and Cake, an animated series for adults created by Adam Muto, first launched on August 31, 2023, and rapidly gained a large audience. Because of its popularity, HBO Max has approved a second season.
This show is a continuation of the original Adventure Time, marking the third major series in the franchise. Fred Seibert and Sam Register are executive producers, and Muto—who previously led the final seasons of Adventure Time and the Distant Lands specials—is the showrunner.
I’m so excited about this new series! It stars Fionna and Cake, which are basically gender-swapped versions of Finn and Jake – it’s wild seeing them like that! And it’s amazing to see Simon Petrikov back, though we know him best as the Ice King from Adventure Time. It’s going to be a really interesting story!
Fionna lives a mundane life, working ordinary jobs and escaping into dreams of a magical world. Meanwhile, Simon lives a similar life in another version of the Land of Ooo, working from home. Together, they journey through different universes, but are hunted by a villain who wants to make them disappear.
At Comic Con, Adam Muto explained that the new show, *Fionna and Cake*, will take place in a world that feels both recognizable and different. He promised fans the same heartwarming humor and exciting adventures that they loved about *Adventure Time*, but in a fresh setting.
Fans can now enjoy a weekly release of new episodes and follow the story as it unfolds. All episodes will be available exclusively on HBO Max.
