Haunting Continues: The Conjuring Universe Set to Expand into TV

The ‘Conjuring’ series is set to make its debut on television, as HBO Max is now actively working on a show inspired by the popular horror movie series. The project has recently made significant progress.

According to Variety, it’s been announced that Nancy Won will be contributing as a writer, executive producer, and showrunner in the project. Additionally, Peter Cameron and Cameron Squires have been brought on to craft scripts for the show. Regarding this news, HBO Max has remained silent.

The development of the series was initially announced back in 2023. Although the details about its plot are under wraps, it’s set to carry on from where the films left off.

In this project, Peter Safran assumes the role of an executive producer, while Atomic Monster – led by James Wan – takes on the production duties. The studio responsible for this venture is Warner Bros. Television.

This update arrives shortly following the cinema release of “The Conjuring: Last Rites”. The latest addition to the series has proved incredibly popular, amassing approximately $194 million globally to date.

Peter Cameron and Cameron Squires have collaborated on various Marvel productions. Notably, Peter penned the special “Werewolf by Night” and TV series such as “Agatha All Along”, “Moon Knight”, and “WandaVision”. Meanwhile, Squires contributed to “Agatha All Along” and “WandaVision”, along with the Star Wars show “Agent Elvis”, the upcoming series “The Acolyte”, and Season 2 of “Gen V”.
