Giannis Antetokounmpo Teases His Nike Giannis Freak 7

The 2024-25 NBA MVP competition could revolve around Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Nikola Jokić, yet Giannis Antetokounmpo continues to be among the world’s elite players. This Milwaukee Bucks titan is scoring more than 30 points per game, keeping his team in contention for home-court advantage during the playoffs next month. Following a victory against the Los Angeles Lakers, Antetokounmpo shared on Instagram a sneak peek of his forthcoming signature shoe with Nike.

The new sneaker, apparently known as the Nike Giannis Freak 7, has been unveiled in three distinct color schemes. Deviating significantly from its predecessors, the Giannis Freak 7 sports a wavy texture at the midsole which is carried over to sections of each side of the upper. Notably, he’s decided to reintroduce reversed Swooshes, positioning them on either side of the shoe. A two-piece outsole includes an “Antetokounmpo” label towards the lateral side, while his “GA” logo graces the tongue. The initial image showcases a black and orange design with pink Swooshes, another presents an all-yellow layout, and a preview of the third, titled “Wolf in Sheep’s Clothing,” appears to pair gray with “Volt” highlights.

Currently, there’s no word yet from Giannis Antetokounmpo or Nike Basketball on the exact release date for the Nike Giannis Freak 7. Given that its predecessor came out in August last year, it seems we might have to wait a few more months before this new model hits stores. From the sneak peek shared by Antetokounmpo on his Instagram post (see below), it appears the shoe will retail for around $110 USD and can be purchased through Nike SNKRS and select retailers.
