Drew Harrison, a key character artist at Sucker Punch Productions, currently involved in the project ‘Ghost of Yotei‘, has been met with criticism following his public celebration of the death of conservative commentator Charlie Kirk.
As a fan excitedly expressing my thoughts on Bluesky, I shared: “I’m secretly hoping that the culprit turns out to be named ‘Mario’, just so Luigi understands he has his support.
The post was created following the announcement of a tragic event: Kirk, the creator of Turning Point USA, was fatally shot at Utah Valley University.

At Sucker Punch, where Ghost of Tsushima was created for Sony, Harrison is employed. They are also developing a new game titled Ghost of Yotei, scheduled to be released on October 2nd.

Background
The remarks are made following DC Comics’ decision to terminate writer Gretchen Felker-Martin’s Red Hood comic book series, this action taken after she had publicly rejoiced about Kirk’s demise on social media as well.
The two occurrences highlight a concerning trend in the entertainment and gaming sectors where political violence is overtly celebrated, leading to public uproar and causing us to question the ethical norms within these industries.

What Happened to Charlie Kirk
At Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah, Charlie Kirk was tragically killed during a gathering he was hosting. The incident occurred onstage, where he was fatally shot. Not long afterwards, President Donald Trump announced Kirk’s passing.
Utah’s Governor Spencer Cox characterized the incident as a “politically motivated murder,” and officials are actively searching for the perpetrator in a manhunt operation.
