Genshin Impact Luna II release date, events, and features revealed

I was so excited to watch the livestream today! HoYoverse announced Version 6.1 of Genshin Impact, which they’re calling Luna II, and they also showed off the open beta for Miliastra Wonderland – that user-generated content mode looks amazing! I can’t wait to try it out.

“Song of the Welkin Moon: An Elegy for Faded Moonlight” tells the story of Rerir trying to steal Columbina’s power. Varka, the leader of the Knights of Favonius, is working to bring together all the different groups in Nod-Krai to fight against this threat, even including Marionette’s Fatui. However, even with all their combined strength, they may not be powerful enough to defeat one of the Five Sinners.

The Luna II update for Genshin Impact will be released on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, iOS, and Android devices on October 22, 2025.

Genshin Impact Luna II: story & characters

Okay, so in the Genshin Impact Luna II Archon Quest, things are seriously heating up! Rerir is going after Columbina, but she’s already pretty weakened, and everyone in Nod-Krai is trying to stop her. Varka’s basically trying to unite all the different groups to protect Columbina, and he’s asked me and Nefer to find a way to actually beat Rerir. It’s crazy because even the Marionette and Arlecchino showed up to help – definitely didn’t see *that* coming!

The Genshin Impact Luna II character banners will feature Nefer as a newly obtainable unit.

Genshin Impact Luna II: events & anniversary rewards

The following events will be available in Genshin Impact Version Luna II:

  • Ruins Exploration: Fieldwise Center – Join forces with old friends from Sumeru to uncover the mysteries of some ancient desert ruins in various types of minigames; rewards include Primogems and 4-Star character Collei.
  • Dance Dance Dynamic Disco – Multiplayer rhythm event; rewards include Primogems.
  • Saurian Sojourn – Platformer event using Natlan’s Saurians and their mechanics; rewards include Primogems.
  • Overflowing Abundance – Double drops from Talent and Weapon Ascension Material domains.

Okay, so in the Luna II update, I’ll be able to grab new quests from Columbina in the second part of Selenic Chronicles. Pretty cool, I’m excited to see what she’s got for me!

A Genius Invokation TCG update with Varesa, Ifa, and a Vishap as Character Cards will be available.

Luna II will be the first place players can try out Miliastra Wonderland, a new platform within Genshin Impact where you can design your own characters and create custom gameplay levels. To celebrate the launch, several online events will be held, giving players chances to earn extra rewards.
