In the first person: I’m excited to share that the newest addition to the legendary “Predator” series is “Predator: Badlands,” directed by the talented Dan Trachtenberg, who brought us the hit film “Prey.” The latest trailer unveils a thrilling future-set tale on an isolated planet. In this adventure, Elle Fanning takes on the role of Thia, a synthetic character, who forms an unexpected alliance with a young Predator in exile, skillfully portrayed by Dimitrius Schuster-Koloamatangi.
New Setting, New Predator
The movie is set in a distant future away from Earth. In this story, Schuster-Koloamatangi portrays a young Predator who has been cast out of his tribe. Desiring to demonstrate his worth, he encounters Thia (Fanning) and they reluctantly join forces.
The teaser portrays the planet as the “most lethal in the cosmos,” and there’s a menace that “can’t be vanquished.” It cautions the young Predator, “On this world, you’re not the hunter. You’re the hunted.” This dialogue establishes a narrative centered around survival, offering a unique twist on the usual predator-prey dynamic.
