Remember the theme song? Well, fans of *Friends* will be excited to know that the show’s famous coffee shop, Central Perk, is becoming a real, permanent cafe in New York City! Even though *Friends* ended over 20 years ago, it remains incredibly popular, and its characters and locations – especially Central Perk – have become instantly recognizable parts of pop culture.
As a huge *Friends* fan, I was so excited to hear that Central Perk is coming to Times Square! Apparently, their pop-ups have been doing really well, so they’re bringing the iconic coffee shop right to the heart of New York. *Variety* reports that they’re not just serving regular coffee, either – they’ve teamed up with Tom Colicchio, the judge from *Top Chef*, to create special coffee drinks and food inspired by the show. And of course, they’ll have the famous orange couch for photos! They’re also selling *Friendsthemed merchandise and coffee blends, which is perfect for a fan like me.
I recently got a sneak peek at the new ‘Friends’ experience coming to Manhattan, and let me tell you, it’s all about capturing that feeling of stepping right back into the show. Peter van Roden from Warner Bros. Discovery explained they really want to create something special for fans – a space that feels both familiar and brand new. Honestly, New York City feels like the perfect place to honor the show’s history and strengthen that connection fans have with Central Perk and everything ‘Friends’ represents.
Get ready to relax and spend time with friends, just like you always do! We don’t have an exact opening date yet, but it’s expected this Fall – the perfect time of year for a warm cup of coffee.
