After the enormous global success of Fede Alvarez’s Alien: Romulus, which raked in $350 million, we can expect a follow-up movie. Notably, film studios such as 20th Century Studios appreciate both such financial figures and positive critical reviews. However, regrettably, the next installment of the Alien series will not have Fede Alvarez as its director.
As a cinephile, I’ve recently completed the script for a follow-up to “Romulus”. However, I’m handing over the reins as director for this project. Instead, I’ll be producing it alongside Ridley Scott. We’re currently on the hunt for a fresh directorial talent to step in and bring our vision to life.
The Cailee Spaeny film is rumored to have new ideas in development, although specific details are being kept under wraps. As for Alvarez and the Alien: Romulus sequel, while he might not be directing it, he still has strong views about when the movie should be released.

As an example, if you look at “Alien” and “Aliens”, there was a gap of seven years between them. However, they do have plans for where the story could continue.
We’re uncertain if it will be a wait of seven years, sir. However, we’re pleased that he will continue to play a role in the subsequent events.
