
Asia Reaves, a former convict trying to rebuild her life, is searching for steady work. When she finds a housekeeping job advertised in New York City, she hopes for a fresh start. However, she soon discovers the city is plagued by mysterious disappearances, and finds herself caught up in a dangerous situation far beyond anything she anticipated. This is the premise of ‘They Will Kill You,’ a film written and directed by Kirill Sokolov, with Alex Litvak.
Zazie Beetz leads the cast of the film, playing the character Asia. Myha’la, Paterson Joseph, Tom Felton, Heather Graham, and Patricia Arquette also appear in supporting roles. Beetz, age 34, recently shared with TopMob how she became involved with the project and her experience working with director Kirill Sokolov.

It was genuinely entertaining, with surprising moments, and felt like a really fun ride. Beyond the excitement, she appreciated that her character had depth, facing not just physical dangers, but also complex emotional challenges and a compelling backstory. It struck a great balance between lighthearted fun and serious drama.
The film offers a lot to enjoy, including plenty of humor that balances out its intense and emotionally powerful scenes. She described it as a ‘well-balanced’ movie, blending action, comedy, and heartfelt moments, all wrapped up in a visually appealing package.

The actress believes this project is uniquely the vision of its creator, Kirill. She particularly loves the film’s vibrant, jewel-toned color palette, describing it as something she’s naturally attracted to. She also points out a striking blend of vintage and modern aesthetics, reminiscent of 1990s films like The Fifth Element.
