10. ‘Elemental’ (2023)

Disney and Pixar’s ‘Elemental’ takes place in a city where residents are made of fire, water, earth, and air. The story centers on Ember, a fiery character, and Wade, who’s made of water, as they team up to help Ember’s family business and unexpectedly find they have a lot in common. Leah Lewis and Mamoudou Athie lead the voice cast, with supporting roles played by Ronnie del Carmen, Shila Ommi, Wendi McLendon-Covey, and Catherine O’Hara.

Peter Sohn directed the film, which was written by John Hoberg, Kat Likkel, and Brenda Hsueh, who also developed the story. Thomas Newman composed the music, and Denise Ream produced it for Pixar. Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures distributed the 101-minute film, which grossed almost $500 million globally.

9. ‘Cleopatra’s Final Secret’ (2025)

This National Geographic documentary follows archaeologist Kathleen Martínez on her twenty-year quest to find Cleopatra VII’s tomb. The film centers on excavations at Taposiris Magna and a recently discovered port now underwater. Viewers will see remarkable finds, including hundreds of ancient bronze coins with Cleopatra’s face, along with jewelry, makeup, and other relics.

This Disney+ special documents archaeologist Dr. Zahi Hawass’s investigation into where Cleopatra was buried. He believes her tomb might be at the Taposiris Magna temple complex, but other experts think she’s more likely buried in Alexandria. The show also details the expedition itself, including current underwater searches.

8. ‘Hocus Pocus’ (1993)

‘Hocus Pocus’ is a Halloween classic set in Salem, where a trio of witches – the Sanderson sisters – are mistakenly brought back to life. The story centers on a group of teenagers and a magical black cat who team up to stop them. The film stars Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, Kathy Najimy, Omri Katz, Thora Birch, and Vinessa Shaw.

Directed by Kenny Ortega and written by Mick Garris and Neil Cuthbert (based on a story by David Kirschner and Garris), the film’s music was composed by John Debney, with cinematography by Hiro Narita. First released in 1993 by Buena Vista Pictures, it’s become a beloved tradition for many each Halloween.

This short, five-minute preview on Disney+ gives fans a first look at ‘Tron: Ares’, the next installment in the ‘Tron’ saga. It includes footage from the movie and background information, and is rated TV-14.

Directed by Joachim Rønning, the new film ‘Tron: Ares’ features Jared Leto as Ares, with Greta Lee, Evan Peters, Jodie Turner-Smith, Gillian Anderson, Hasan Minhaj, and Jeff Bridges also starring. Released in theaters in October 2025, the movie will eventually be available to stream on Disney+, and Disney shared a special preview on its website and app.

6. ‘The Incredibles’ (2004)

‘The Incredibles’ centers on Bob and Helen Parr, a former superhero duo, who are drawn back into action alongside their super-powered children to stop the villainous Syndrome. The film features voice performances by Craig T. Nelson, Holly Hunter, Samuel L. Jackson, Jason Lee, Sarah Vowell, Spencer Fox, and Elizabeth Peña.

Directed by Brad Bird and created by Pixar for Disney, the movie established the franchise’s signature style with its blend of old and new technology, and its focus on a family working together. Michael Giacchino created the music, and Disney distributed the film.

5. ‘Incredibles 2’ (2018)

‘Incredibles 2’ continues the story of the Parr family, with Helen taking on superhero duties and Bob handling things at home. But when a new villain called the Screenslaver emerges, the city is in danger. The film stars Craig T. Nelson, Holly Hunter, Sarah Vowell, Huckleberry Milner, Samuel L. Jackson, Bob Odenkirk, and Catherine Keener.

I just saw the latest Pixar film, and let me tell you, it’s a fantastic ride! Brad Bird not only wrote and directed it, but he really brought his vision to life. John Walker and Nicole Paradis Grindle produced a smooth operation, and Michael Giacchino’s score is absolutely beautiful. Distributed by Disney, the movie clocks in at a solid 118 minutes, and it’s become a massive hit – it’s already earned over $1.24 billion around the globe! Definitely worth checking out.

4. ‘Thunderbolts*’ (2025)

Marvel’s upcoming movie, ‘Thunderbolts*’, brings together a team of complex and often morally gray characters—like Yelena Belova, Bucky Barnes, and Red Guardian—for a dangerous mission. They’ll have to work together despite their differences. The film stars Florence Pugh, Sebastian Stan, David Harbour, Wyatt Russell, Hannah John-Kamen, Olga Kurylenko, Lewis Pullman, Geraldine Viswanathan, and Julia Louis-Dreyfus.

I recently saw Jake Schreier’s latest, and it’s a visually striking piece. The script comes from Eric Pearson and Joanna Calo, though I understand Lee Sung Jin did some work on it earlier in the process. It debuted in London on April 22nd, 2025, and hit U.S. cinemas on May 2nd. Interestingly, it marks the end of Phase Five for this particular cinematic universe. The music, by Son Lux, really enhances the atmosphere, and Andrew Droz Palermo’s cinematography is top-notch.

3. ‘Ratatouille’ (2007)

‘Ratatouille’ is a charming movie set in Paris about Remy, a rat who dreams of becoming a great chef. He unexpectedly partners with Linguini, a clumsy kitchen worker, to create delicious food at the famous Gusteau’s restaurant. The film features the voices of Patton Oswalt, Lou Romano, Ian Holm, Brad Garrett, Janeane Garofalo, and Peter O’Toole.

Brad Bird wrote and directed this 111-minute film, which was based on a story by Jan Pinkava, Jim Capobianco, and himself. Pixar Animation Studios produced it, with music by Michael Giacchino, and Buena Vista (through Walt Disney Pictures) distributed it.

2. ‘Lilo & Stitch’ (2025)

This new movie is a live-action remake of the beloved animated classic, taking place in Hawai‘i. It tells the story of Lilo and her surprising friendship with Stitch, a mischievous alien. Maia Kealoha stars as Lilo, and Chris Sanders returns to voice Stitch. The cast also includes Sydney Agudong, Zach Galifianakis, Billy Magnussen, and Courtney B. Vance. Dean Fleischer Camp directed the film, and Chris Kekaniokalani Bright wrote the screenplay.

Filming for the movie happened between 2023 and 2024. It first came out in theaters in May 2025, and then became available on Disney+ in early September 2025, quickly gaining tens of millions of views. Dan Romer created the music, and Industrial Light & Magic (ILM) did the visual effects.

1. ‘Elio’ (2025)

Pixar’s new movie, ‘Elio,’ tells the story of 11-year-old Elio Solís, who unexpectedly makes contact with aliens. He’s then taken to a gathering of alien civilizations where everyone thinks he’s Earth’s official representative! The film stars Yonas Kibreab as Elio, with Zoë Saldaña voicing his Aunt Olga, Brad Garrett as Lord Grigon, Jameela Jamil as Ambassador Questa, and Shirley Henderson as the character OOOOO.

Madeline Sharafian, Domee Shi, and Adrian Molina directed the film. Julia Cho, Mark Hammer, and Mike Jones wrote the screenplay, and Rob Simonsen composed the music. It first appeared in theaters on June 20, 2025, and will be available for home viewing later in the year.
