Elijah Blue Allman, Cher’s youngest son, was arrested on February 27th in Concord, New Hampshire. Police responded to a call at St. Paul’s School around 7:00 p.m. regarding a disruptive person in the dining hall.
According to witnesses, a man was behaving aggressively, leading the school to request police assistance. Officers identified the man as 49-year-old Allman, who wasn’t affiliated with the school.
Allman was arrested and charged with two counts of simple assault, trespassing, disorderly conduct, and criminal threatening. He was later released on bail.
Okay, so things are heating up again with Cher and her son. Right now, neither side is talking publicly – no official statements from their lawyers yet. This comes after a pretty public fight last year where Cher tried to get legal control of her son’s affairs, worried about his health and struggles with substance abuse. She ultimately dropped that effort in late 2024, and at the time, his legal team said everyone was focused on healing and getting closer as a family, and that mediation had gone well. But this recent arrest? It definitely throws a wrench into that narrative and suggests things are still far from settled for him. It’s a sad reminder that even when families seem to be making progress, there can still be setbacks.
Elijah Blue Allman is the son of singer Cher and the late Gregg Allman, both famous musicians. Following in their footsteps, he became a musician himself, fronting the industrial rock band Deadsy as their singer and guitarist.
Deadsy gained a dedicated fanbase in the early 2000s with their album Commencement, which recently saw a renewed interest thanks to a vinyl re-release just before Allman’s arrest.
Although the band has hinted at a new album called Subterfugue for several years, it hasn’t been released yet. In February 2024, they released their first new song in almost 20 years, “(study for a portrait of) Napoleon In Rags,” leading fans to believe a full comeback might be happening.
Cher, at 79, is still very busy with her career. She’s been promoting her memoir and recently celebrated a remastered version of her hit song with Elijah, “Crimson and Clover.” She’s also hinted at a possible world tour in late 2024 or 2025, featuring songs from her latest Christmas album and a tribute to ABBA.
While her son prepares for a court appearance on April 20th, Cher continues to oversee her successful career. She’s reportedly working on new movies and recently appeared in a documentary about the Allman Brothers Band. Despite personal family issues, she remains a strong force in the entertainment world, successfully balancing her iconic status with new projects.
