The Duffer Brothers, known for creating ‘Stranger Things,’ are moving from Netflix to Paramount, where they’ve signed a new four-year contract. However, their departure from Netflix doesn’t affect the final season of ‘Stranger Things’ or the planned spinoffs, as they’ll still be involved in the ‘Stranger Things’ universe post-Netflix. It seems that the Duffer Brothers are enjoying the best of both worlds.
According to the Duffer brothers, their collaboration with Netflix has been remarkable. They’ve worked closely with Ted Sarandos, Bela Bajaria, and Peter Friedlander who have provided an exceptional level of creative freedom and support that is rarely experienced by artists. After a decade, they consider them family. They are thrilled to continue working together on projects like the upcoming release of “Stranger Things 5”, as well as other shows such as “Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen” and “The Boroughs”. The brothers are also eager to explore the future of “Stranger Things”, with many more tales to tell beyond Hawkins, and they can’t wait to share these stories with everyone.
Despite ending their Netflix deal, the Duffer brothers will continue to be involved with Stranger Things and any other ongoing projects they have, as Variety clarifies. Therefore, fans can breathe a sigh of relief, knowing that the Stranger Things animated series, Stranger Things: Tales From ’85, and potential spinoffs are secure.
During this period, any other ventures initiated by the Duffer brothers will be under Paramount’s ownership. They have entered into a four-year exclusive agreement with the company and are exploring “ambitious” and “large-scale cinematic” projects. It remains to be seen if the Duffer brothers can find a similar level of success for Paramount, as they did with Netflix, in terms of “Stranger Things.
