As a longtime fan of Drake, I find myself deeply concerned about the current state of affairs surrounding his career. The relentless criticism he’s been facing lately feels unfair and unwarranted, especially when his core fanbase remains unwavering in their support.
When a rapper’s primary supporters are the ones shielding them while everyone else criticizes, it’s not a positive sign. However, this is the current situation with Drake, as he’s faced harsh criticism both online and offline following his legal action against Universal Music Group and Spotify.
The news anchor, much like someone asking to talk to a supervisor in a retail store, subtly expressed disappointment or frustration regarding Drake, during his report on the legal documents.
CNN just cooked Drake 😭

Drake is alleging that Universal Music Group and Spotify have unlawfully inflated the streaming figures and radio airplay for Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us.” In this track, Drake claims he has been accused of pedophilia by Kendrick Lamar. Additionally, Drake has warned that he may take legal action against Universal Music Group for defamation due to the song’s content.
As a passionate fan, I’ve observed that while not everyone follows it, there’s an unwritten rule within hip-hop culture known as the “no snitching” code. This principle is borrowed from the broader street code. Consequently, if one hip-hop artist betrays another by tattling, they often face a significant wave of criticism.
Others who’ve criticized Drake include Charlamagne tha God and Joe Budden. In essence, Joe believes that Drake’s legal actions often display a recurring pattern of dubious behavior, whereas Charlamagne awarded him an unfavorable title, “Donkey of the Day.
For those who don’t know, the radio host gives the “Donkey of the Day” title to people who he believes committed a huge wrongdoing. Plus, Charlamagne called Drake a hypocrite because he started a rumor about Kendrick and his longtime partner Whitney Alford during his battle with the GNX rapper.
In this situation, Charlamagne stated on Monday, December 2, that it appears Whitney Alford, not Kendrick, is the one involved in a genuine defamation case. This is because Drake claimed not only that Kendrick was abusing Whitney, but also suggested that Dave Free, Kendrick’s business partner and friend, is the real father of one of Kendrick’s children.
