Dinosaur Sex Scene Almost Made It into Jurassic World Rebirth!

In the movie Jurassic World: Reborn, we witnessed an unusual display of affection between two ancient creatures as they shared a tender moment in what can only be described as a dino embrace. This unexpected scene, though sweet, was intended by screenwriter David Koepp to be significantly more passionate. In fact, he penned a draft of the film that included an explicit dinosaur mating scene, but it was deemed inappropriate and had to be removed.

After almost three decades, writer David Koepp revisited the Jurassic Park franchise to write Jurassic World Rebirth. In a revealing interview with IndieWire about Jurassic World Rebirth, Koepp shared that an initial idea for a romantic dinosaur scene was originally intended to be a much more explicit dino-sex scene.

Koepp found it challenging to write the dino mating scene because he wasn’t sure how explicit he should be. At one point, he apparently pushed the boundaries as much as possible. In one version of the script that he submitted to the studio, he wrote, “They approach the dinosaurs in the field. To put it mildly, they have eight legs between them, but only six are touching the ground.

In an interview, Koepp found the dinosaur love scene in Jurassic Park amusing but deemed it inappropriate for the movie. However, this perspective could change over time. Koepp included the raft scene from the original novel in his Jurassic World Rebirth script because he adored it, but such a scene wouldn’t have been feasible in 1993. So, who knows, by the 37th installment of Jurassic World, a screenwriter striving for something innovative might find a detailed dinosaur mating scene perfectly fitting.
