The allegations against him are serious, and it seems like his pre-trial notes being seized and used against him is a twist that would make even the most hardened game devs blush.
On October 28th, it’s said that authorities carried out a search at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn. The aim of this operation was to remove unlawful items such as weapons, electronic devices, and illicit substances from within the notorious facility, according to AllHipHop’s report.
Since his arrest on sex trafficking and related charges in September, Diddy has been detained in a New York jail. He alleges that the prosecution is utilizing his pre-trial notes against him, as these documents were seized during the raid and subsequently provided to them.
Essentially, Diddy’s legal representative, Marc Agnifilo, is requesting a hearing to discuss these matters, asserting that the search and seizure infringed upon Mr. Combs’ Fourth, Fifth, and Sixth Amendment rights. Furthermore, he argues that the selective confiscation of a detainee’s trial-preparation work and confidential materials constitutes excessive government action, which is a violation of procedural fairness.
Additionally, Agnifilo countered the assertion made by the prosecutors that Diddy’s records indicated he compensated his ex-group mate, Kalenna Harper, for her testimony in defense of him when he faced a lawsuit from artist Dawn Richard.
Agnifilo expressed deep worry about a critical issue that urgently requires attention: it was not disclosed to our defense team that Mr. Combs’ notes were taken from his cell and handed over to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, who subsequently shared these notes with the prosecutors in this trial, using them in their filing to keep Mr. Combs behind bars.
In September, Richard filed a lawsuit against Diddy, who is 55 years old, merely days before his arrest for alleged sex trafficking. He claimed that Diddy had sexually assaulted him, failed to pay a fair wage, and misused his position of power.
Later in October, Harper expressed his thoughts during an interview with Breakbeat Media, implying that Richard might be taking legal action against Diddy merely to secure a financial payout. “I must admit, financially struggling individuals will resort to desperate measures for money, and I sincerely hope what he said is true because I’m perplexed,” Harper stated in part.
