On December 2, 2025, Bungie has officially confirmed the release of Destiny 2: Renegades, which will be available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S gaming platforms.
The upcoming game segment titled “Renegades” continues the Fate Saga and takes inspiration from Star Wars in terms of narrative, settings, and additional elements. Unlike the earlier integrated Star Wars aesthetics, it’s not a direct collaboration – think of it as an imitation of the ambiance, created by Bungie to maintain legal autonomy while still resembling the original quite noticeably, considering the current trend where intellectual properties can freely appear in various places without much fuss.
The update will introduce a novel gameplay setting, introduce new characters, and provide an extra interactive gathering spot. Star Wars-themed blaster weapons will be available as a new weapon type. These weapons draw energy for firing from the players’ reserves; however, they are prone to overheating, so regulating heat usage is essential to fire them effectively.

In the “Lawless Frontier” setting, most tasks involve engaging in common criminal activities such as smuggling goods or hunting for fugitives (bounty hunting).
Simultaneously with the unveiling of Renegades, Bungie rolled out a significant update for Destiny 2. Dubbed Ash & Iron, this update revived the Plaguelands and introduced Reclaim missions for teams of three players. Furthermore, additional content is slated for release in September and October, featuring a raid among other drops.
