Daredevil Already Canceled? ‘Final Season’ Says Charlie Cox

According to Charlie Cox‘s latest statements, it seems that the second season of “Daredevil: Born Again” might be its last, aligning with Vincent D’Onofrio’s recent remarks.

It’s common knowledge that the first season didn’t perform well in terms of ratings, as no episodes managed to make it onto the Nielsen chart. In fact, even Ironheart, which was released in batches of three episodes, still made it onto the chart.

Cox’s remarks align with his recent statement that he won’t feature in the upcoming film, “Avengers: Doomsday“.

What did Charlie Cox say?

At Galaxy Con recently, Cox talked about what he’s looking forward to most in the forthcoming episodes, and in a casual manner, he labeled it as the “last season.

As a passionate movie enthusiast, I can’t help but feel thrilled about an element we’ve introduced in our final season that’s entirely exclusive to our series. Unlike the comics, this twist is entirely ours, and I can’t wait for you all to see it!

It seems that the phrase “final season” might indicate that the series could be coming to an end after only two seasons, although neither Marvel nor Disney+ have confirmed this officially.

New Black Suit, New Ending?

Cox made his remarks during a discussion about photos from the filming location depicting Matt Murdock wearing a dark Daredevil outfit.

The actor subtly suggested that Season 2 might feature unique content unrelated to the original source, potentially aligning with Marvel’s ongoing attempts at reworking their content following Season 1’s lack of connection with the audience.

The Writing’s On The Wall

Based on Vincent D’Onofrio’s latest statement, it appears that Season 2 has been completed but the future of Season 3 remains uncertain. Whether we get to see more seasons depends largely on fan reaction and support.

If given the chance, we’ve got an idea, declared D’Onofrio. “The ball is in the fans’ court now, to watch, to feel excited. It’s our responsibility to satisfy them and tell the story correctly, but we are certainly eager and ready for it!

It’s plausible that the studio has chosen to conclude “Born Again” after its underperformance in Season 1 on Nielsen charts and a general lack of sustained viewer interest on Disney+.

No Avengers

Cox confirmed that he won’t appear in the upcoming Avengers films, implying that his involvement in the Marvel Cinematic Universe may be drawing to a conclusion.

A fan asked Cox on TikTok if he would appear in Avengers: Doomsday, and he simply responded, “No.”
