Renowned artist Cleon Peterson has teamed up with Modernica for a fresh collaboration titled “The Divide Collection“. This project was inspired by the tragic loss of his home in the Eaton Fire in Altadena, California earlier this year. The collection is intended to aid Peterson and his family, using destruction as a canvas for artistic expression.
This special collection showcases nine Side Shell Chairs on Eiffel Tower pedestals, along with an Arm Shell Rocker Chair, all personally autographed by Peterson. Consistent with his unique aesthetic, the designs employ dramatic black-and-white contrasts to represent the struggle between desolation and determination.
As I marveled at these captivating designs, I couldn’t help but notice the striking juxtaposition of black and white – a visual representation of the chasm that separates despair from resilience, devastation from renewal. Even amidst destruction, there lies a glimmer of potential for transformation. This insight, I gladly shared with all who would listen.
All earnings generated by The Divide Collection are earmarked for assisting Peterson and his family in their rebuilding efforts. This collection debuts on March 20, and it will only be available on Modernica’s official website.
