‘Chainsaw Man The Movie: Reze Arc’ to Debut in September 2025

Over the weekend at AnimeJapan 2025, I was thrilled to hear that MAPPA animation studio has finally set an official release date for “Chainsaw Man: Reze Arc” The Movie in Japanese theaters! Come September 19th, lucky Japanese fans will get a headstart as the global audience to witness the feature-length debut of this popular anime series. To add to the excitement, the show’s creators also unveiled 12 character visuals, revealing fresh new designs for the entire cast.

As per Crunchyroll’s announcement, Tatsuya Yoshihara, who directed episodes four and ten of season one, is taking charge of the film. Hiroshi Seko will be back to pen the script, while Kazutaka Sugiyama assumes the role of Character Designer. The news also mentions Souta Yamazaki as Assistant Character Designer, Sota Shigetsugu as Action Animation Director, and Riki Matsuura as Look Back Director, with Kiyotaka Oshiyama being another key member of the team.

2022 saw the arrival on Crunchyroll of a series adapted from Tatsuki Fujimoto’s original manga. In essence, it follows the story of Denji, a teenage boy who lives with a Chainsaw Devil named Pochita. To repay his father’s debt, Denji has been scavenging devil corpses alongside Pochita. A turning point occurs when Denji is betrayed and killed. As he slips away, he makes a pact with Pochita, leading to him being reborn as “Chainsaw Man” — a man who possesses a devil’s heart.

The upcoming movie continues from where the first season ended, focusing on Chainsaw Man (Denji) joining Special Division 4’s team of devil hunters and his interaction with Reze, a café worker. Given the title, it seems Reze’s character will be pivotal in the movie’s events.

Keep an eye on TopMob for announcements about when Chainsaw Man The Movie: Reze Arc will be released worldwide.
