Cam’ron says he was bothered by a text message that Jay-Z sent him

As a gamer who has been through countless battles and feuds in virtual worlds, I can’t help but draw parallels between Cam’ron and Jay-Z’s beef and my own gaming experiences. The resolution of their longstanding feud is akin to finally defeating the final boss in a game, bringing a sense of closure that’s hard to find elsewhere.

In the early 2000s, there was a notable feud between Cam’ron and Jay-Z. However, this beef was put to rest when Cam’ron appeared at Jay-Z’s B-Sides concert in Brooklyn in 2019. Together on stage, they performed their joint track “Welcome to New York” for the audience.

However, even after the performance ended, there was something odd that lingered in the mind of the Harlem rapper. It was a text message from Jay suggesting an end to their feud. Cam found this message unusual and wasn’t quite sure how to interpret it.

On his “Talk With Flee” YouTube program, Cam shared that he received a text saying, “‘Dude, last night was awesome.’ I replied, ‘It was truly awesome. Thanks for wrapping things up.’ He responded by saying, ‘Absolutely, man. It’s amazing what we can accomplish when people stop pretending there’s fake conflicts out there. Those phony disputes only cause problems.’

He went on to say, “I wasn’t sure how to interpret that message. I didn’t understand his intent when he sent that text. I responded, ‘Regardless, you, Dame and Biggs provided me with a chance to earn a legal income for my family, so there’s no issue there.’ However, deep down, I was thinking, ‘Why on earth would he send such a message?’ It still puzzles me. Yet, I have no problems now, but I found it odd at the time.

Later on, Cam admitted that he hasn’t had any interaction with Jay since the B-sides concert. He commended Jay’s business skills and expressed confidence in their continued friendship. However, regarding the possibility of collaborating on another song together, Cam indicated it would be unlikely as both of them have moved away from music as a primary focus in their lives.

It appears that Jay has resolved several long-standing conflicts with artists like Nas, Fat Joe, Beanie Sigel, Jim Jones, The LOX, Lil Wayne, and Kanye West. This could indicate that Jay is more focused on moving forward rather than dwelling on past disagreements.
