Bradley Cooper Joins Margot Robbie in a Prequel to Beloved Heist Comedy Movie

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Bradley Cooper is in discussions to star alongside Margot Robbie in a new Ocean’s Eleven movie. This film will be a prequel, meaning it will tell a story that happened before the events of the original movies. Margot Robbie’s production company, LuckyChap Entertainment, and Warner Bros. are producing the film, and Lee Isaac Chung, known for directing films like Minari and Twisters, will be directing.

This new film, set in 1960s Europe, will tell a fresh story within the universe of Ocean’s Eleven, but it won’t be a remake. Carrie Solomon is the screenwriter, and the specifics of the plot are currently being kept secret.

Originally, Ryan Gosling was a potential co-star with Margot Robbie, but recent reports suggest Bradley Cooper is now the frontrunner for the male lead.

This project has evolved quite a bit since it was first announced in 2022. Originally, Jay Roach was set to direct, and Robbie was going to produce.

I’m really excited about this new prequel because it’s going to connect with the original *Ocean’s Eleven* films – you know, the ones Steven Soderbergh started back in 2001, and then continued with *Ocean’s Twelve* and *Ocean’s Thirteen*. It’s cool that they’ve also expanded the world with *Ocean’s 8* from 2018, starring a fantastic cast like Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, and Anne Hathaway. It feels like everything will really come together!

The upcoming movie will reveal the history of Danny and Debbie Ocean’s parents – the characters famously played by George Clooney and Sandra Bullock. While filming was originally planned to begin in spring 2023, it was delayed to accommodate the actors’ availability. Lee Isaac Chung is now set to direct, and the film is a collaboration between Warner Bros., LuckyChap Entertainment, and Village Roadshow Pictures.

This new movie could offer a unique take on a popular series, while still paying tribute to the original films. Fans are likely excited to see Cooper and Robbie’s interpretation of this 1960s European heist story.
