Billy Corgan has a new solo tour to celebrate anniversaries

A few weeks following Billy Corgan‘s exhilarating reveal of the “Night of Melon Collie and Infinite Sadness” concert at Chicago’s Lyric Opera House, he has shared updates about a June tour. This time, he will be performing as a solo artist, joined by his latest group, The Machines of God.

On this upcoming tour, neither Jimmy Chamberlain nor James Iha will be accompanying The Smashing Pumpkins. However, a new addition to the band, Kiki Wong, will take on the role as their second guitarist.

This tour is known as “A Return To Zero“, marking the 30th anniversary of the two-disc album “Melon Collie and the Infinite Sadness” and the 25th anniversary of “Machina/The Machines of God“. The tour will feature numerous hits from those albums, in addition to songs from the latest Smashing Pumpkins record, “Aghori Mhori Mei“.

New shows with Billy Corgan and The Machines of God promise to satisfy

From the 7th to the 29th of June, their journey begins in Baltimore and concludes in Minneapolis. Additionally, during that same month, they are scheduled to perform at festival venues in Joliet, Illinois (Taste of Joliet) and Milwaukee (Summerfest).

Billy Corgan often adapts the stage with the band lineup that aligns with his creative vision most closely. Here’s hoping The Smashing Pumpkins persist, featuring Iha and Chamberlain. With The Smashing Pumpkins having already delivered a wealth of music for so many years, any future concerts or albums are simply an added treat to the fantastic work they’ve given us thus far.

It seems that the venues for this Smashing Pumpkins tour are smaller than usual arenas, providing an expectedly cozy atmosphere and a mind-blowing performance quality. Given all the transformations the band has undergone, it’s intriguing to ponder if these shows will be completely sold out, as their dedicated fanbase – both new and longstanding supporters – eagerly await this run of concerts.

Consistent with a lengthy catalog of songs, Billy Corgan is set to unveil an extensive 80-track box set entitled “Machina”. This collection will include a 48-track version of Machina, supplemented by 32 additional tracks such as outtakes, demos, and live performances. These bonus materials can be found at his tea shop, Madame Zuzu’s. Nearly four decades on, Billy Corgan continues to captivate audiences with his distinctive gothic and alternative style.
