Billie Eilish publicly criticized Elon Musk after reports surfaced that he could become the world’s first trillionaire. The singer, who often speaks out about important issues, shared her thoughts in a strongly worded post on Instagram.
The disagreement arose following a vote by Tesla investors to allow a plan that could potentially award Elon Musk billions of dollars in stock if Tesla achieves specific financial and performance targets over the next ten years.
If Tesla achieves its ambitious goals, the company could be worth $8.5 trillion, making Elon Musk a part-owner of roughly 25%. Key targets include attracting 10 million subscribers to its self-driving software and selling one million humanoid robots. Musk presented this vision at a shareholder meeting, calling it not just the next step for Tesla, but a completely new beginning.
Billie Eilish shared a campaign from the My Voice, My Choice initiative that encouraged Elon Musk to use his fortune for charitable purposes. The campaign proposed specific amounts – $40 billion yearly to end global hunger, $10 billion a year for a century to vaccinate newborns, and $53.2 billion to rebuild Gaza. Eilish accompanied the campaign’s information with a strongly worded message to Musk, calling him “pathetic” and a “coward” and using several swear words.

““f***ing pathetic p***y b**** coward””
The singer has spoken out against billionaires before, most recently at the WSJ Innovator Awards. Her latest post continues this trend, as she consistently advocates for addressing wealth inequality and encourages the wealthy to use their resources to benefit the world.
