HBO has shared a new trailer for the final four episodes of IT: Welcome to Derry, giving a sneak peek at what’s to come. You can currently watch the first four episodes on HBO Max. The rest of the season will air on Sundays on both HBO and HBO Max, concluding with the season finale on December 14th.
Welcome to Derry is a horror series with supernatural elements, inspired by Stephen King’s 1986 novel, It. It tells the story leading up to the events in the 2017 and 2019 It movies.
Andy Muschietti, Barbara Muschietti, and Jason Fuchs – the team behind the original movies – created the show. The cast features Taylour Paige, Jovan Adepo, Chris Chalk, James Remar, Stephen Rider, Clara Stack, Amanda Christine, and Mikkal Karim-Fidler. Bill Skarsgård returns as Pennywise and is also an executive producer.

Development on the series started in early 2022, and Fuchs and Brad Kane were brought on to lead the creative direction. HBO approved the project in February 2023, with Andy Muschietti directing several episodes, including the first one. Skarsgård joined the cast in May 2024. Filming began in May 2023 but was temporarily halted in July because of the 2023 actors’ strike. Production finished in August 2024. IT: Welcome to Derry debuted on HBO on October 26th and has generally been well-received by critics.
The story takes place in 1962, when a family relocates to Derry, Maine, around the time a young boy goes missing. Soon after they arrive, unsettling and scary things start happening throughout the town.
The latest trailer gives viewers a preview of the increasing danger and features some frightening new looks at Bill Skarsgård as Pennywise. As the series heads toward its final episodes, expect the suspense to really ramp up.
