As a passionate admirer, I can’t help but express my excitement about Awake NY, the downtown streetwear label spearheaded by Angelo Baque. This iconic brand is renowned for its extensive network of collaborative partnerships, stretching from Ferg and Tommy Hilfiger to Union LA and Jordan.

Recently, they’ve teamed up with Barriers Worldwide, the New York streetwear brand founded by Steven Barter, which is celebrated for weaving cultural narratives into fashion. Following their successful Gil Scott-Heron collection earlier this year, I can’t wait to see what this latest collaboration will bring!

This line offers two hoodie designs and T-shirt concepts. Notably, the “Flag” t-shirt showcases an artwork that symbolizes the “multifaceted reality of being American,” representing both the joy of diversity and the struggles inherent in it. Meanwhile, the hoodies bear “Live Free” insignias, seamlessly blending both brands’ symbols with uplifting phrases – “A Beacon Leading Us Towards Love” – on their backsides.
