Avengers: Doomsday Rumored to Erase Everything After Endgame

A widespread rumor online claims Marvel might be resetting its cinematic universe with a new *Avengers: Doomsday* movie. The idea is to undo the storylines that followed *Endgame*, which many believe haven’t been successful under Kevin Feige’s leadership.

If this is accurate, it means all the Marvel shows on Disney+ – like *She-Hulk*, *Hawkeye*, *Secret Invasion*, and *Ms. Marvel* – would be considered failures, since most Marvel fans haven’t shown much interest in them.

That would also mean pretending the 2025 Marvel movies – *Fantastic Four*, *Thunderbolts*, and *Captain America: Brave New World* – never happened. And we can’t forget films like *The Marvels*, which was the lowest-performing Marvel movie ever, and the disappointing results of *Quantumania*.

Since *Endgame*, Kevin Feige has focused more on delivering a specific message than on crafting compelling stories, and it’s become clear that this strategy isn’t successful.

The rumor

YouTuber Doomcock recently claimed that Robert Downey Jr. considered leaving the movie *Avengers: Doomsday* because he was unhappy with the script.

Now in a new video, the YouTuber goes over recent Avengers: Doomday rumors:

Reports suggest the upcoming ‘Doomsday’ project will continue the story after the events of ‘Endgame’, essentially making any Marvel movies or shows released since then no longer part of the main timeline. The film is expected to focus on the original Captain America and his choice to build a life with Peggy Carter, creating a new future for him. We’re still gathering more information and will share updates as soon as we have them.

If this happens, it would essentially undo everything that’s happened in Marvel movies and Disney+ series over the last few years, bringing the story back to a time where Steve Rogers remained in the past with Peggy Carter.

Details confirm that the house reportedly owned by Steve Rogers in the 1960s was known on set as “Luke Cage.”

Captain America as the Crisis Point

This rumor is supported by another one spreading on X. A user named MyTimeToShineHello claims that Captain America returning to the past with Peggy Carter is the key event that sets up the plot of *Avengers: Doomsday*.

From what I gather, Steve traveling back in time to be with Peggy caused the dimensional rifts that led to the death of Doctor Doom’s family. Now, Doom is relentlessly pursuing Steve, seeking revenge for his actions and using anyone he can to get to him.

What It Could Mean

If Marvel continues with this story idea, it would not only reverse some decisions fans haven’t liked in recent years, but also bring Chris Evans’ Captain America back to a prominent role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Recent images of Evans show him jacked, as he is thought to be returning as Captain America.

Connecting Doctor Doom’s reasons for acting to Steve Rogers’ history would make Robert Downey Jr.’s potential return as the villain even more impactful, and would also link Marvel’s future plans to the beloved characters from the Infinity Saga.

As a big fan, I’ve been following the rumors about where the MCU is headed after *Secret Wars*, and it all seems to be pointing towards a big reset. It makes sense to me that they’d want to wipe the slate clean of anything that didn’t quite land after *Endgame*. Plus, I’ve heard that the Disney+ shows and the movies are going to be completely separate going forward, which is a bit of a change, but could be a good thing!
