Audi has unveiled significant changes within its organizational structure as it prepares for its debut in Formula 1 racing in 2026. To enhance development efficiency, they are reorganizing their leadership. Mattia Binotto, who previously headed Ferrari’s team, is now taking charge of the Audi F1 Project and will oversee development activities across Audi’s facilities in Hinwil, Neuburg, and an upcoming technical center based in the United Kingdom.

The restructuring process involves Christian Foyer being named as the Chief Operating Officer for Audi Formula Racing GmbH, the division focusing on the development of Audi’s hybrid power unit for Formula 1 racing. Foyer has close to two decades of experience in Formula 1 and motorsport operations, stepping into the role previously held by Adam Baker, who is departing the project following a mutual agreement.

Under the revised organizational setup, Audi indicates that this change aims to foster a smooth collaboration between racing car and engine technology advancements. Stefan Dreyer continues in his role as the Chief Technical Officer and will additionally serve as the representative of the AFR management board’s public face.
